So long story short while i was active duty i developed pilonidal cysts (Don't google that its disgusting) i had two surgical procedures done while active to have them removed, both failed. After i got out last year i filed some claims and got the cysts service connected but rated at 0%. I then decided to get a 3rd surgery from a civilian doctor to hopefully have the problem taken care of for good. This surgery was pretty invasive and i ended up being stuck in bed and unable to work or do anything for about 7 months. It was pretty terrible, i couldn't even sit or lie on my back for about 6 weeks. I had home nurses coming several times a week for about a month as well. So i read into filing a temp 100% claim and decided i qualified, so i went to file one on va.gov but kept getting redirected to file a normal claim, i ended up just filing for an increase for the cysts because i could not figure out where to file for temp 100%, i figured the VA would make the decision for temp 100% after seeing the evidence. After several months i had my P&T exam, they measured 40 something inches of scar tissue and sent me on my way. Next day i checked the VA website and they decided to not increase my percentage or grant me temp 100% for the 7 months i was down. So i feel like I'm missing something, is there some secret way to file for temp 100%? If i wasn't able to live with my parents during that time i would have been absolutely screwed, i feel like i should at least get compensation to cover the cost of surgery. If anyone has any ideas on how i should proceed please let me know because i feel like appealing this normal claim for increase wont get me anywhere since the problem is now resolved.
