I started the process last week to file a formal complaint against a VA Nurse for violation of several of my VA Patient Rights and the Veterans Admin Police just issued me a charge after my complaint was initiated with the Patient Advocate. I have strong reason to believe that this action is both retaliatory and an effort to shield their employee. I am not going to get into the nitty gritty details of the charge or what prompted me to file the complaint due to pending court cases but I have retained an attorney and I am taking the VA to court. Both to defend my name and because I refuse to be bullied.
I will disclose that the charge is exceedingly trite and the fine minor – which reinforces my belief that this action is retaliatory and protective in nature and why I have retained an attorney at this time.
Have any of you experienced anything similar with the VA when trying to file a complaint against staff or am I just the lucky one?
