Benefit poaching (Pension Blog) : Veterans

Not everyone knows about pension benefits so I thought this blog post was worthwhile to share. While this blog post (w/ 2 minute video) is primarily directed towards Pension applicants, it also has information pertinent to how compensation benefits may be scammed (it’s non-specific but the same techniques are used to poach compensation benefits). All benefits get scammed unfortunately.

I deal with this stuff far too often. It’s not fun for those that are scammed or those trying to fix it. It typically impacts the most vulnerable among us so we need to stay strong together, and stay vigilant. Benefits shouldn’t cost you anything (except in extremely rare circumstances) and your benefits are for you to decide how to spend (unless you have a fiduciary… Always an exception).
