25 June Vets 2 Industry Virtual job fair : Veterans

The Vets 2 Industry Virtual job fair will be held on Saturday 25 June 2022 from 1400-1900 Eastern time

It is a free event and very helpful. They have a keynote speaker or two, then attendees are broken down into smaller groups and put into virtual rooms to for you to give your 30 second elevator pitch to the room. There are recruiters in each room, along with members of other veterans groups that help veterans, transitioning veterans and military spouses (even if mil member is out of service already) get connected with people and places to apply to. I found out there are way more veterans groups out there for us to get help from. I’ve had 2 job interviews from two different ones so far. They will also have people from educational institutions and people who can help you with the GI Bill and get it started. I have learned a lot about my resume and interviewing, along with LinkedIn help. You do not need to stay at the event the entire time, a video will be emailed to you of the event later on. At the end of the last couple I got to give my “elevator pitch” to the group at large (along with anyone else who wanted to) and got an interview from that and feedback on my pitch/how to improve it. A very worthwhile event.
