Don’t give up! : Veterans

[ad_1]

I am not going to make this about what I have done to get to this point. I want this post to be a beacon of hope to those out there struggling. Something to look at and to let you know that you will eventually find your way.

I posted a while back about going through the process to teach as a college professor. Well today, after a lot of online interviews and phone calls, I woke up to this job offer. Out of everyone being considered, I managed to prove to all of the interviewers that I was the best candidate to teach these young men and women and to help them reach their goals, and that makes me feel so good! For more than a decade I have been fighting demons, feeling worthless, almost took my own life, thinking that I was a nobody and that I would never amount to anything ever again now that my uniform was hung up for good. Well I was wrong, at least I hope. It took a lot of work to get here but I did it. I got here. I found a way over and through every obstacle that was thrown my way. I’m not 100% healed. I never will be. I’m scared as hell to start this new journey. But I have worked too hard to quit now and I’m going to put everything I have into finding success at this. So hang in there friends. You will find your own path. It will take time and work, but it’s out there. You will come back from whatever you are facing! Just don’t give up!
