Question about BDD and VA.gov claim status. : Veterans

I am retiring with a DOS of 01JUL and I started my BDD (Benefits Delivery at Discharge) process in late January this year. I completed all paperwork and had attended all the medical appointments by the end of February. I have two questions:

1. Even after all this time, my claim status on VA.gov is on step 3, Evidence gathering, review, and decision. It’s been on this status since March 11. Will it update to step 4, Preparing for notification, sometime before my DOS or since they can’t tell me until 01JUL at the earliest, I will not see any update to let me know if things are proceeding or hung up until then?

2. Even though it is obviously not 01JUL yet, the latest update posted says “Thank you. VA received your claim” and is dated for 01JUL. Hoping that is not any kind of indication of any problems or anything.

Would love if some others who went through BDD could share what they saw and hopefully give me some confidence I’ll see a notification shortly after my DOS.
