Soldier Comes Home Early From Deployment, Surprises Sister After Year Apart

[ad_1]

Staff Sgt. Crystal Robles and her sister, Christina Quiles, have always been inseparable. They didn’t have the easiest childhood, and Robles practically raised Quiles.

When she was just 17 years old, Robles decided to join the U.S. Army, and 20 years and two deployments later she is still loving it.

Although she has enjoyed being a part of the military, the time she has spent away from her sister has been extremely difficult for the both of them.

After a ten-month deployment in Iraq, Robles found out that she was finally coming home, and decided to surprise her sister. She came up with a plan and contacted her sister’s friend, who told Quiles that she wanted to get together for dinner.

When Quiles arrived to meet her friend, she had no idea that her sister would be there waiting for her. Quiles’ friend told her to look ahead at the car in front of her. When she saw her sister walking toward her, her jaw dropped and she couldn’t believe her eyes.

Quiles instantly started crying as her big sister gave her a long-awaited hug.

“I’m happy that she’s home,” Quiles told USA Today. “She’s this phenomenal woman. She’s accomplished so much in life, with the Army by her side. She’s my role model.”
