I am rated 90% approved for care in the community for physical health. When the VA did their annual check in with me on Sept 1, they did a mental health screening. After the screening the nurse noted that I have a rating for anxiety, and asked if I had ever had a PTSD screening. I said I didn’t think I’d ever done one, but wasn’t sure and she asked if I’d like to and thought I that I should based on my answers and some of the background that I provided. I said ok.
Today I got a text saying that a third party contractor (LHI) had been contacted by the VA to do a compensation exam. I didn’t realize I would be getting re-evaluated for compensation. Is my current rating at risk from this? I have an appointment on Sept. 30 and I’m nervous. I was just trying to get approved for mental health community care. What should I do?
on VA.gov I see a new claim was submitted on my behalf on Sept. 1st. I didn’t realize I was submitting a claim by agreeing to the PTSD screening. Am I going to get screwed here?
