Hi, I’m in my 20’s as a newly-separated (1 year ago) Navy Vet and I came across this fact on an Instagram Reel connected to TikTok of all place! Turns out, although full benefits are for people 50+, you can get still get discounts and a ton of other services while younger. Aside from discounts like going to Denny’s, discounts on Airlines and Hotels, I am hearing rumours that they even do your taxes for free, even being below 50?
What’s the catch?
It seems the catch is the fact people have a habit of just throwing out all AARP materials they get in the mail because the association with being older and all.
They even appear have special membership discounts for Veterans and Military Members as well.
Anybody had experiences with AARP as a younger individual?
I’m not advertising for AARP, I just want to save as much money as possible.
The whole thing feels like a VA 2.0 with coverage plan of all medical/dental care, advocacy of information such as Agent Orange, and like I said I am very interested in potential free tax preparation.
Any thoughts? This is pretty cool if I can take advantage of something like this in my 20’s this can equate to massive savings in the long run!
