Chicago Enlightens Festivals With Lights, Visitors Do Check Parking Rules

The season of lights makes the Chicago city merry and bright. This is the most colourful time celebrating the decorative holiday traditions in the city. The luminous events bring influx of tourists in millions. There are many events celebrated here namely, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holiday activities to ensure special winter tours.

The holiday season in Chicago kicks off with a grand start and is a family friendly activity in the Michigan Avenue from the Tribune Tower. There are lots to see and enjoy activities, painting, live onstage music and goodies. The event ends featuring tree-lighting parade and turns Michigan Avenue into a wonderland.

The favourite traditions of Chicagoans attend the Thanksgiving Day Parade held on State Street. This is a great opportunity to see Ronald McDonald and Santa Claus tapping feet to the marching carol band in the line-up. This is the only feature in Chicago that features inflatable gigantic helium balloons. This parade is a way of promoting the locals spirits and the economy.

Chicago also celebrates a festival originated in Nuremberg, Germany, Christkindlmarket. This market warms lots of features and hearts of German goodies. There are many vendors selling nutcrackers, ornaments and toys. This is also a wonderful time to indulge in German beers, spiced wine, sausages, desserts and potato pancakes. In this way, the Chicagoans celebrate the festive holiday, a tradition initiated over a century.

At Navy Pier, the Winterwonderfest is a perfect festival for a family. It has fun games, giant blow up slides, an indoor Ferris wheels, rides and ice skating rink indoor. There are many theatres performing holiday entertainment. The Chicago theatre will have performances and you can check out a non-ballet version that is a storefront Chicago-based theatre.

The holidays allow you to experience around 50 trees to reflect different cultures. Enjoy multicultural performances and the Holidays of Light a multicultural display. The Lincoln Park Zoo decorates the zoo with festive displays and strings of lights. The zoo features family crafts, giant snow globes, ice carving demonstrations and ice skating.

Chicago stages in all the innovative spaces variety of visionary productions and welcomes the musicals and other touring productions from all the places across the country. Visitors can also enjoy the comedy scene and laugh the night away.

With the visitors coming here to see and enjoy the Chicago lights festival there is a need to understand the Chicago rules and regulations of driving and parking.

  • A car coming from outside means the registration is out of Chicago. If so, they must display on the car a city sticker as long as they are a Chicago resident. The residents include everyone, whether your primary home is Chicago or not.
  • The new residents of Chicago must display in 30 days the City sticker.
  • If you rent your Chicago property also, the renters must display a city sticker.

In a fast- paced city and crowded city as Chicago, parking is certainly a big deal. It is really expensive. The monthly parking rate per month is over $300 in particular locations. The indoor coveted spots, featuring heated garages feature close to Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, the Loop or near the condo building are prime locations and do not provide parking. The parking spaces are hot commodities representing the city and the condo buildings feature parking facilities as an amenity and also as a revenue source.
