Jessica Myers, or more commonly known as, Jess, served from 1996 to 2018. During her service, Myers mobilized with Navy Customs Battalion TANGO in support of Operation Enduing Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group.
Her military career consisted of active and Reserve service. She served as the senior enlisted advisor to the Navy’s former Office of Women’s Policy under the Office of the Chief of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C.
Myers received numerous awards including the following: ten-year Federal Career Service Award, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, an Army Achievement medal, three Navy Good Conduct medals, three Naval Reserve Meritorious Service medals, a National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Military Outstanding Volunteer Service medal, a Sea Service Deployment ribbon, a Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, and an Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device.
Currently, Myers works on the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS) executive staff. She provides subject matter expertise on women’s policy issues. Myers is obtaining a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership.
Following in the footsteps of their mother, her children are currently following their own dreams. Her daughter is completing a master’s in Global Management, and her son is working toward his bachelor’s degree to become a high school teacher.
