3 Massive Air Force Bombers Will Be Involved in Military Flyover at Super Bowl LV

[ad_1]

This year’s Super Bowl in Tampa will have one very special event occur at the opening ceremonies on February 7th, 2021. It will be a military flyover but unlike most that you have seen.

You have seen flyovers done by fighter jets from the various services, or maybe big C-5s, or even helicopters before, but this flyover will include something that most have never seen before; this one will include three of the Air Force’s biggest and best bombers.

Most people may be seeing the Air Force’s B-2 bomber for the first time, which will certainly be impressive enough, but along with that incredible bomber, there will also be a B-1B and a B-52. These are the three most formidable bombers in the United States Air Force arsenal. And they are huge.

The B-2 bomber will be flying out of Whiteman AFB near Knob Noster, Missouri. The B-1B will lift off from Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, and the B-52 will fly from the base in Minot, North Dakota. They are then going to join up over the stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, where they will execute the precision flyover and then fly back to their own bases afterward.

The Commanding General of the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) says of the event, “Supporting this event is a tremendous honor for the United States Air Force. We look forward to this opportunity to showcase the reliability, flexibility, and precision of our bomber fleet to the nation during this exciting event.”

One of the things the Air Force is looking forward to showing with this unique demonstration is how they can coordinate and deploy these incredible bomber assets anywhere in the world from the continental United States.

These military flyovers are always impressive, but I think this one will make an impression like no other before it. These three bombers, from the old and reliable B-52 to the more sleek, even otherworldly looking B-1B and B-2 bombers, will roar over the Tampa Bay stadium, and every eye will be on them. The sight and sound of them will truly get everyone’s attention.

We look forward to a great Super Bowl and a tense battle between the old veteran Tom Brady leading the Buccaneers and the young, mobile, and wily Patrick Mahomes guiding the Kansas City Chiefs. But some of us are also looking forward to this monumental, highly coordinated flyover by the B-2, B-1B, and B-52 bombers. Fly High, Fight, Win!
