The best way to teach children about church is to take them by the hand and go to church with them. Example is always the best teacher. Attending church allows the family to meet people of similar faith. Church teachings and church activities bring about moral living, good citizenship, and generate good associations.

Children obtain special attention in most churches. Often youth groups are formed to provide activities during the week. Many troops sponsor scouting and similar character-building activities.

Church activity allows adults and children and opportunity for service, helping the widows, the elderly, the sick with house and yard work. Church help with remodeling and painting, the things that the elderly or handicapped can not perform themselves.

You shouldn’t force your child to go to church if he or she is not happy going there. See if you can determine if there is a problem with other children or a leader. Meeting with church leaders can help resolve such problems. The needs of each person in a church need to be addressed. If members can help you resolve a problem, just ask.

Parents should support youth activities such as serving as leaders, teachers, being on scouting boards, providing transportation and serving where other needs exist.

Church activity is important to your children. Lead the way.

Sadly child abuse exists in churches. Report any incident or suspected incident to your local child protective services office or law enforcement agency so professionals can assess the situation. It’s the law in many states.
