Guide to Obtaining Free CNA Training and CNA Certification

[ad_1]

Free CNA Training has become a real possibility for a lot of Americans today. With the aging population comes more patients in need of medical care. Certified Nursing Assistant jobs, more than any other in the medical field, are expected to grow by as much as 27% over the next 10 years. The roughly equates to 33,000 new jobs creted each year!

One way to receive free CNA training is to work at a hospital and have them sponsor you. What this means is that after you graduate from a certified CNA class, you must stay employed by that hospital for a certain period of time, depending on the contract that you sign. A lot of hospitals are actively looking for new hires to fill open CNA positions. The cost of finding and training a new-hire is nearly as much as the cost of a certified CNA certification class, so this decision is almost a no brainer for the employer.

Another avenue to receive free CNA training is to visit your local government employment office. A lot of states offer free CNA certification to low-income, unemployed or military veterans, just to name a few. Scholarships are another good way of getting the majority of your CNA training class paid for. These scholarships are publicly funded by state governments to ensure the health of its citizens.

Student loans are another way to help pay for your CNA training. Although these do not make the CNA training classes free, they do allow individuals who can’t afford the upfront payment to still attend the class. You will be paying a bit more than usual, but they allow you to make small payments over a period of time. Student loans can be obtained directly through the school or from private loans. One downside to private loans is that they are credit based, and can have a higher interest rate then loans provided by the school.

Becoming a CNA can be a very rewarding job if you allow it too. If you are someone who enjoys caring for others or just enjoy making other people feel happy, then a career as a Certified Nurse Assistant might be right up your alley. The pay is also very competitive. Starting CNA’s average about $9-$12 per hour, although, these wages vary depending on state and kind of facility worked in. Veteran Certified Nurses Assistants can make upwards of $18 per hour.
